Introduction

Welcome to the AutoCAD 2012 & AutoCAD LT 2012 Bible. Whether you use AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, you'll find complete explanations of all the powerful features that you need to know about to design and draw anything. This book is intended to be your comprehensive guide to both the AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT programs.

This book covers every significant AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT feature. If you're a beginning user, you'll find everything you need to start out; if you're already using AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT regularly, the book covers advanced material as well. Although you can use this book as a tutorial if you're just starting out or learning a new set of features, it also provides a solid reference base to come back to again and again. The short tutorials on almost every topic will quickly have you creating professional-level drawings. The DVD is chock-full of drawings, a trial version of both AutoCAD 2012 and AutoCAD LT 2012, and add-in programs (which are for AutoCAD only).
If you are upgrading to AutoCAD 2012 or AutoCAD LT 2012

Quick Start: Drawing a Window
Learning AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT is a bit like trying to decide which came first — the chicken or the egg. On one hand, you need to know the basics before you can start drawing. On the other hand, understanding the basics can be very difficult if you haven't had the experience of drawing something. In this Quick Start chapter, you resolve this problem by drawing, dimensioning, and printing a simple window in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT.
This Quick Start chapter is meant for beginners. You get the feel of AutoCAD's precision drawing tools and experience how to build a drawing. The AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT interface is very customizable. Note that the instructions for the exercise in this chapter assume that no one has made major changes to the default settingsimkitshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15449014711258250557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7098588273918549584.post-78223818380602828252012-10-02T18:32:00.001-07:002012-10-02T18:45:56.201-07:00Using Autocad 2012 Tutorials PdfIntroduction Using Autocad 2012 Tutorial Pdf

With more than four million users around the world, AutoCAD offers engineers, architects, drafters, interior designers, and many others, a fast, accurate, and versatile drafting and modeling tool. Now in its 18th edition, Using AutoCAD 2012 PDF makes using AutoCAD a snap, by presenting easy-tomaster, step-by-step tutorials covering AutoCAD’s commands.

BENEFITS OF COMPUTER-AIDED DRAFTING

AutoCAD is efficient and versatile for creating drawings. Some of its advantages include the following:
Accuracy — AutoCAD drawings are created and plotted to an accuracy of up to fourteen digits.
Speed — AutoCAD operators can easily copy and array objects, and otherwise edit the drawing. When operators customize the system for specific tasks, the speed of work increases even more markedly.
Consistency — AutoCAD is consistent in its methodology, and so the problem of individual style is eliminated. Companies can have a number of drafters working on the same project and produce a consistent set of drawings, when they follow established CAD standards.
Popularity — AutoCAD is the most popular software for creating and editing drawings. After learning to use AutoCAD, students are more likely to be hired; firms that use AutoCAD are likewise more likely to find suitable new employees.
AutoCAD Tutorials is being applied to many industries. The flexibility of this software has a major impact on how tasks are performed in architecture, engineering, interior design, manufacturing, mapping, piping design, and entertainment. A brief discussion of each of these applications follows. Architecture

CAD allows architects to formulate designs in a shorter period of time than by traditional techniques. The work is neater and more uniform. The designer can use 3D modeling to help the client better visualize the finished design. Changes can be made and resubmitted in a very short time. Architects can assemble construction drawings using stored details.

AutoCAD’s database allows architects to extract information from the drawings, perform cost estimates, and prepare bills of materials. Many third-party applications help architects customize AutoCAD for their discipline. Software is available for doing quick 3D conceptual designs, providing building details, generating automatic stairs, and much more. www.autodesk.com/autocad

Revit Autodesk promotes its Revit product as the future of architectural design. Architects create the building in 3D, and then let Revit generate 2D section views. Worksets allow team members to work together on the same model, fully coordinating their work. Detailed graphic control and view-specific graphics permit drawings to show more or fewer details.

The software can be configured to office standards for graphic style, data and layer export, as well
as to additional drafting and CAD standards. The software package includes thousands of building
components, and can output its data to ODBC-compliant databases. www.autodesk.com/revi

Autodesk has an AutoCAD add-on called Architecture (formerly Architectural Desktop), which customizes AutoCAD for architectural design. Its Content Browser accesses catalogs, tool palettes, and design content in the form of blocks and multiview blocks. With direct manipulation, you can modify designs directly, using either grip manipulation or in-place object editing. Materials provide graphic and nongraphic attributes for design, documentation, and visualization. You can attach materials to building model objects and to their respective components for greater visual detail.

Scheduling allows tracking of any object in drawings. Because schedules are linked to data, they automatically update as the design changes. You can create schedule tables, objects tagged through xrefs, and schedules of external drawings. Third-party developers have add-on software for roadway design, digital terrain modeling, and more. www.autodesk.com/architecture

AutoCAD displays your drawings on the screen of your computer’s monitor. All the additions and changes to your drawing are shown on the screen as you perform them. You can work with one or more monitors, placing the drawing on the main monitor and tool palettes on the secondary monitors. Drawings are made up of 2D objects, such as lines, arcs, circles, text, as well as 3D objects, such as boxes, cylinders, and tori.
You place objects in drawings by entering commands and selecting options. You issue commands by several methods: typing the names of commands on the keyboard, selecting icons from the ribbon, or choosing options from floating palettes. Some commands start automatically when you double-click objects in drawings.

Once a command starts, you are often asked to choose among its options. After you identify all the
information that AutoCAD requests, the new objects, or changes to objects, are shown on the screen.
If you need additional help, refer to Appendix B, “AutoCAD Command Summary.” TERMINOLOGY

To use AutoCAD properly, this book contains terms and concepts that you need to understand. Some
of the terms are explained briefly in this chapter. In addition, you may consult the index, which contains many terms.

Coordinates

AutoCAD uses the Cartesian coordinate system. The horizontal is represented by the x axis; the vertical,
by the y axis. Any point on the plane can be represented by an x and y value shown in the form of x, y. For example 2,10 represents a point 2 units in the x direction and 10 units in the y direction. The origin of the x and y axes is the 0,0 point. This point is normally at the lower left corner of the screen. You can, however, specify a different point for the lower left corner. When AutoCAD works with 3D (three-dimensional) drawings, the third axis is called the “z axis,” which normally points out of the screen at you.

Drawing Using Autocad 2012 Tutorials Pdf Files

Drawing files contain the information used to store the objects you draft. Drawing files automatically have the file extension of .dwg added to them.
Quick Start: Creating a Furry Creature 3ds max 8 bible tutorial pdf

When you first got your hands on 3ds Max Tutorial pdf Free Download, you were probably focused on one goal—creating cool 3D images and animations. I know that many of you bought Max to make money, claim a tax write-off, earn a way to Hollywood, or impress your girlfriend or boyfriend, but I’ll just ignore those reasons for now. The goal is to create something cool. If you’ve perused this book’s Table of Contents or thumbed through its many pages, you’ve seen sections on modeling, materials, dynamics, and other topics. But if you’re like me, you don’t want to wade through tons of material before you have something to show off to Mom. (Actually, if you’re like me, then you’ve opened straight to the special effects section, in which case you won’t be reading this.)
The purpose of this Quick Start is to give you a taste of what Max can do. This soaring view of the software from 20,000 feet is intended to show you the big picture before you delve into the details. It exposes you to the most common features—including many new features— and whets your appetite for the more in-depth chapters to follow.

This part of the book is intended for those new to the software. If you’re an experienced user, then your mom is no doubt already impressed with your work, so you can happily advance to whichever chapter appeals to you. (Forgive me for catering to the “newbie,” but we were all beginners once.)
What’s New Autocad Tutorial PDF

AutoCAD Tutorial pdf 2012 introduces new features along with
continued enhancements to existing capabilities. You will notice the
following differences in Applying AutoCAD 2010:
• Further refi nements to the user interface. The arrangement of tabs,
panels, and buttons on the Ribbon has improved, allowing for faster,
more intuitive modeling–particularly in the 3D Modeling workspace.
• An entirely new 3D object, the 3D mesh, which allows users to create
models with smooth, fl owing geometry in 3D space. When mesh modeling is
combined with surface modeling and solid modeling, AutoCAD users now have more power and freedom to design in three dimensions than ever before.
• New tools for working with solid primitives and mesh primitives.
Subobject fi lters and gizmo tools make it much easier to select and
modify any face, edge, or vertex of a primitive.
• Dynamic blocks are easier to author and edit, with new procedures and on-screen icons.

Hi! I'm Jeff Bartels. Welcome to Autocad Tutorials For Beginners .
In this title we'll explore how AutoCAD helps us transition our designs from
concept to construction.
We'll start by looking at plotting.
Whether you're creating a quick worksheet or a formal exhibit, I'll show you
how you can easily create hard copies of your drawings that are printed to a measurable scale.
Next, we'll learn how to tie our annotations to the plot scale.
In the event the drawing is printed to a scale other than 1:1, AutoCAD's
annotative property will ensure that text, dimensions, and callouts are properly
sized on the printed sheet.
We'll also explore how to share our drawings with others, even if they're not
using the same CAD program as we are.
Along the way, we'll look at the DWF file format.
Using DWFs your clients can view and mark up your drawings without needing
any CAD package at all.
Finally, I'll give you an opportunity to take the skills you've learned in this
title and apply Autocad Tutorials to a small project.

The first eight chapters cover the core of Inventor in a way that steps the reader through creating drawings, parts, and assemblies in phases so there is a better opportunity to absorb the concepts.
The second portion of the book consists of seven chapters that focus on tools and workflows specific to types of design and on reusing data and automating the design process. I recommend readers complete the work in these chapters to learn alternative workflows that may not be an obvious fit for their design needs but may help them
on the familiar AutoCAD programming architecture Inventor Tutorial 2010, 2013 Pdf but instead on a separate foundation that would provide the room needed to grow into the fully featured modeler it now is, a decade later. Inventor continues the development of Inventor with assembly layout, plastic parts, and
other productivity tools.
Who Should Read Mastering Autodesk Inventor 2010, 2013 Pdf
This book is written with a wide range of Inventor users in mind, varying from beginning to advanced users:

Autodesk Inventor Tutorial 2010, 2013 Pdf CAD design

◆ Beginning Inventor users who are making the move from traditional 2D CAD design to
Inventor 2010. These readers will have experience with AutoCAD and an understanding
of basic design and engineering concepts, as well as a desire to improve their skill set and
stay competitive in the marketplace.

◆ Intermediate Inventor users who have gone through formal Inventor training during their
company’s initial implementation of Inventor and are looking for more information on a
specific module within Inventor. Inventor Tutorial 2010, 2013 Pdf also targets users looking for a desktop reference
to turn to when they come upon an area of Inventor that they do not encounter on a
day-to-day basis.

◆ Advanced Inventor users who have mastered the Inventor tools they use over and over
daily but want to conquer the parts of the program they do not utilize during their normal
design tasks. Inventor Tutorial 2010, 2013 Pdf also targets advanced users who want to add to their skill set to move up the ranks within their current company or want to expand their knowledge in
pursuit of a new position with another employer.

Attempting to learn all the tools in Inventor can be an intimidating experience, because of the
wide range of task-specific modules available. It was the goal of this book’s authors to separate
these modules into easy-to-tackle chapters relating to real-world situations for which the tools
were designed, while also including chapters on general Inventor tools, techniques, and design
principles.

Inventor Tutorial 2010, 2013 Pdf 2D CAD Feature

The maturity of the Inventor tools coincides with the advancement of the CAD market’s
adoption of 3D parametric modelers as a primary design tool. And although it is important to
understand that 2D CAD will likely never completely disappear from the majority of manufacturing
design departments, 3D design will increasingly become a requirement for most. With this in
mind, we have set out to fill the following pages with detailed information on the specifics of the
tools, while addressing the principles of sound parametric design techniques.

This detailed tutorial and reference covers practical applications to help you solve design problems in your own work environment, allowing you to do more with less.
It also addresses topics that are often omitted from other guides, such as Inventor Professional modules, design tactics for large assemblies, using 2D and 3D data from other CAD systems, and a detailed overview of the Inventor utility tools such as Design Assistant and Task Scheduler that you didn't even know you had.
Solidworks 2013 torrent download

SolidWorks 2013 won't be officially unveiled until September 10, but
over the next few weeks, we'll be giving you sneak peeks at a few of the
new features we'll be shipping this fall. And here's the first.
In SolidWorks 2013, center of mass is a selectable entity in
drawings, and you can reference it to create dimensions. In a drawing,
you can create reference dimensions between center of mass points and
geometric entities, such as points and edges.

You can also add a center of mass point in assemblies. The position
of the center of mass point updates when the model's center of mass
changes. For example, the position of the center of mass point updates
as you add, modify, delete, or suppress components or add or delete
assembly features. The center of mass point can be useful when you are
designing assemblies requiring balanced mass (for example, to avoid
excessive vibration). You can see how it works in the video below.

This will be a welcome addition. It looks just like the current Show/Hidden Components command that is currently present in the Assembly environment.
When I look through the Help to a lot of software, not just SolidWorks 2013 Download , I see that most of them leave out some really basic information. SW help often leaves out where to find tools, or what they look like, or what you should expect them to do (input/output).

I’ll aim at including all of that plus an example examining the decision making process you might use to select the feature or the options within the feature. Design is about Decisions. In the Solidworks 2013 edition, I hope to help you more with the decision making process.
Every year I vow to have a closer look at the tutorials, and every year it seems to be the last thing on the list. This year I’m really gonna do it, though. Step-by-step stuff is in my opinion very hard to write and of limited value for anyone except new users.

I prefer to teach concepts over facts. I recognize that not everyone agrees with me, so I’ll try to combine both methods. With SolidWorks 2013 Download You can only learn basic stuff when you’re learning facts. To really work with the software you have to start understanding concepts. The software is just too huge to memorize a bunch of detailed facts. So, there will be a combination of brief step-by-step tutorials to demonstrate the workflow and short video demonstrations. There will be no dvd this year, but all the content will be available via download.
F.A.Q

Q: Is the converted drawing editable? Can I remove a line or trim it?
AutoDWG creates editable DWGs with Vector type of PDF files, for example, the PDF files that plot with AutoCAD or derived from DWG files. Lines and arcs are removable or editable, same as the native AutoCAD drawing.

Q: How is the scale of the converted drawing?
The scale for the conversion is 1:1, the measurement will be the same scale from the original PDF, but may not the same to the original dwg, that depends on what the scale was to create the PDF file from the native CAD drawing.

This is because of the PDF file does not keep the scale information of the PDF to the native drawing that is derived from. The converted drawing kept the vector information of the PDF, and the scale is depends on the page size, image resolution, the DPI, etc. so when you find the scale of created drawing is incorrect, please calculate what it should be, for example, using scale 1:1, created 100 units line in the DWG, however it should be 25 units, then you may enter the scale 0.25, and then try to convert it again. Then you can use this scales value to convert this drawing and other similar drawings.

Q: I do not have a registration code, how can I try it?
The software offers 15 days of free trial period, this period started when the first time this application was downloaded and install. Please run it and click on button "continue" to see how it works, no registration code requested. If it displays "remained 0 days", that means the trial period has expired, please send one PDF file to us and we will run the full version program, save the converted drawing and email it back to you for the evaluation
Learning AutoCAD Bible Pdf or AutoCAD 3D Tutorial LT Pdf is a bit like trying to decide which came first — the chicken or the egg. On one hand, you need to know the basics before you can start drawing. On the other hand, understanding the basics can be very difficult if you haven't had the experience of drawing something. In this Quick Start chapter, you resolve this problem by drawing, dimensioning, and printing a simple window in AutoCAD or AutoCAD 3D LT pdf.
AutoCAD's success has been attributed to its famous open architecture — the flexibility that the end user has to customize the program by using source code files in plain text (ASCII) format — and programming languages (such as AutoLISP, VB.NET, C#, and C++).
As a result, AutoCAD is an extremely flexible drafting program, applicable to all fields. AutoCAD's support for languages other than English, including those using other alphabets, is unparalleled, making AutoCAD highly popular abroad. As a result, AutoCAD is used in all disciplines and in more than 150 countries.
Through a high level of technical innovation and expertise, Autodesk has created a program with advanced features and capabilities, including 3D surface and solid modeling and visualization, access to external databases, intelligent dimensioning, importing and exporting of other file formats, Internet support, and much more.

This Quick Start chapter is meant for beginners. You get the feel of AutoCAD's precision drawing tools and experience how to build a drawing. The AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT interface is very customizable. Note that the instructions for the exercise in this chapter assume that no one has made major changes to the default settings.
Note: When you start AutoCAD 2012 for the very first time, the Migrate Custom Settings dialog box may appear, asking you to migrate your custom settings from a previous release of AutoCAD. By default, the Exchange window opens each time you open AutoCAD; just click the Close button to close it.

The file used in this exercise on drawing a window, abqs-a.dwt, is a template located in the Drawings folder on the DVD.

1. Double-click the AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT icon on your desktop to start the program. You see a new drawing. (If you are prompted for a template, skip to Step 2, third sentence.)
2. Choose Application Button⇒New. (The Application Button is the red A at the upper-left corner of your screen.) The Select Template dialog box opens. Navigate to the Drawings folder of the DVD of this book, choose abqs-a.dwt, and click Open. You see a blank drawing. (I explain more about templates and opening drawings in Chapter 2.)

Caution AutoCAD Bible 2012 Tutorial pdf and AutoCAD 3D Tutorial LT 2012 pdf

Don't use the default drawing. You need to open this template from the DVD for the rest of the exercise to work properly. •
3. To save the drawing and give it a name, choose Application Button⇒Save. In the Save Drawing As dialog box, use the Save In drop-down list to navigate to any convenient folder, such as the My Documents folder. Type abQS.(01) in the File Name text box and click Save. (I go into more detail about saving a drawing in Chapter 1)

• You may have made a mistake when creating the drawing. Start over and follow the prompts again.
• You may have started AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT based on a template with different properties from the default. Be sure to use the template on the AutoCAD 2012 and AutoCAD LT 2012 Bible DVD, as explained in Step 2 of the preceding exercise. Then follow the prompts again.

• If your drawing still seems wrong, put this book's DVD in your DVD drive. Choose Application Menu⇒Open and use the Open dialog box to find abQS.(01).dwg in the Results folder on the DVD. This drawing contains the end result of the exercise. Try to find the difference between this drawing and yours. You can also copy abQS.(01).dwg from the DVD to your hard drive and print or plot it.

• AutoCAD includes features that enable CAD managers to hold drawings to certain standards, such as for layer names and text styles. AutoCAD LT doesn't contain these features.
• AutoCAD LT is not as customizable as AutoCAD, which is both programmable and fully customizable. It also doesn't include the Action Recorder.
• AutoCAD LT includes minimal options for 3D; AutoCAD includes a full-featured 3D capability
“Layers” is a concept that allows you to group drawn geometry in distinct and separate categories according to similar features or a common theme. This allows you to exercise control over your drawing by (among other things) applying properties to those groups such as assigning colors, or making them visible or invisible for clarity.
So, for example, all the walls of a floor plan will exist on the “Walls” layer, all the doors on the “Doors” layer, and windows on the “Windows” layer and so on. You can think of layers as transparency sheets in an Anatomy textbook, with each sheet showing a unique and distinct category of data, (skeleton, muscle, circulatory system, etc.) but when viewed all at once show the complete picture of a person. Similarly in AutoCAD there can be any number of layers (often the problem is using too many) with all of them holding their respective data and combining into the complete design.
Creating and deleting layers
Each new layer in autocad needs to be initially typed in according to what you need or the company standard. To do that you need to highlight (click on) the layer 0 grey band. When it turns blue, simply press Enter once and the blue ribbon bar will jump to another line and create Layer 1. Another way to get a new layer is to press a button at the top of the layer box (two icons to the left of the red “X”) that looks like a sheet of paper with a sparkle next to it. Either way, once you do that, just type in the layer name followed by Enter. Some helpful tips:

• If you noticed that you made a spelling mistake after you already pressed Enter, you can just click back into the layer name once or twice until the cursor enters edit mode and retype.
• Do not attempt to change the “0” layer’s name. It is the default layer and cannot be deleted or renamed.
• If you want to delete a layer (perhaps an accidentally made one), simply highlight the layer, click the red
“X” and then Apply at the bottom right of the layer box. If the layer contains nothing it will be deleted.

Making a layer current.

This is simply the active layer that you are able to draw on at any given moment. You are always on some layer (even if you’re not immediately sure which one exactly). So logically if you are about to draw a wall, you should be in the A-Walls layer and so on. To specify what layer to have as current either click the green check mark button (to the right of the red “X”) or double-click the layer name itself. Go ahead and make A-Walls current.

Layer Freeze/Thaw and On/Off In Autocad .

Here we come to a very important part of the layers dialog box. Freeze and Thaw are opposites of the same
command, one that will make a layer disappear from view. The command will freeze or thaw the layer for the entire drawing. Pick a layer, highlight it, follow the band across to the “Freeze” column and underneath you will find a yellow “sun” icon. If you click it, that layer will “freeze” and the icon will become a blue “snowflake”. Clicking again will undo the action. So what does freeze mean? It will make the layer (or rather all the objects on that layer) disappear from view, but remember, they are NOT deleted, only invisible. You will use this feature routinely in drawings to control what is displayed. The On/Off feature represented by the light-bulb (yellow to blue and back) is essentially the same as Freeze/Thaw, with some subtle (and minor) details so we won’t go into them. You can use either method; though stay with Freeze/Thaw just to keep things consistent.

Layer Lock/Unlock in Autocad 2010 & 2012

This layer command, represented by the lock, does exactly that; it locks the layer so you can’t edit or erase it. The layer remains visible, but untouchable. The unlocked layer’s icon is blue and looks “unlocked,” while a locked layer’s lock will turn yellow and change to a “locked” position. Play around with all the buttons we mentioned thus far to get a feel for them. When done, make sure everything is reset (not locked or frozen) and click the “X” in the upper corner of the layer box to close it.
Hatch patterns have been a part of drafting since the days of paper and pencil. Well-placed hatch patterns can add visual interest to your drawings, as well as represent materials to be used for construction. In this lesson, we are going to learn how to create some hatches in Autocad 2012 and 2012.
We are going to use this geometry to learn how the Hatch command works. The Hatch command is located in the Draw panel of the ribbon. The icon is right here. This tab is where we can find all of the settings used to create our hatch.
All of the tools covered in the following steps use default AutoCAD MEP settings. The chapters that follow cover each of these items and settings in detail. This book was authored using Microsoft Windows Vista Business 32bit; however, you can use Windows XP or the 64bit version of either OS with equal success. Basic AutoCAD knowledge is assumed.

When you work in AMEP, you will often work in a “project” environment. Projects in AMEP consist of a collection of AutoCAD drawings grouped together in a predefined framework. Companion files accompanying each drawing define certain relationships and properties that help tie the files together. It is not necessary to work in the Project Navigator environment to use AutoCAD MEP, however, it is considered best practice, and many more benefits of the software can be realized by doing so. All tutorials in this book will use the Project Navigator environment unless noted otherwise.

In general, a Project Navigator project contains four different kinds of drawing files: Elements, Constructs, Views, and Sheets. The Project Navigator system makes use of AutoCAD External References (XREF) to link the various files together into a complete whole. Elements and Constructs generally contain building elements like Walls, Doors, Ducts, and Pipes. Views are typically used to compose several Constructs together via XREFs for the purpose of conveying specific information and producing a particular kind of deliverable. You may compile a mechanical floor plan view, for example, that contains Constructs from the Architect and the Mechanical Engineer. Additional notes or other specific information can be added to this view file before it is brought to a sheet. Sheets contain title blocks and are used for plotting out document sets. For more information on Project Navigator, please refer to Chapter 3.
Views
Constructs are parts of a virtual building model. They can be used to provide the framework for other files. Views are typically built with a more specific purpose in mind. For example, separate Views are often created for each floor plan, elevation, section and schedule you require in your project. There are many reasons for this which are covered in detail in Chapter 3. One common reason is that by having separate Views, file and layer management become simpler. You can also facilitate multiple users working
simultaneously in the same project more easily with View files. Feel free to click the View tab and look around, but for now it is not necessary to open any files.
This section introduces the methodology of AutoCAD MEP 2010 pdf. Many concepts will be familiar to the seasoned AutoCAD user; many concepts will be new. If you are a current AutoCAD user, skim through this section looking for concepts unique to AutoCAD MEP (AMEP), particularly in Chapter 2.
If you do not have AutoCAD experience, please read this entire section. Many basic AutoCADskills are assumed (please see the Preface for details), therefore, it may also benefit you to complete some basic AutoCAD tutorials prior to reading this section.
This book has been written as a desk reference for beginning and intermediate SolidWorks users. SolidWorks bible Pdf Download is such an immense software program that trying to cover all its functions is an extremely ambitious undertaking, which has resulted me leaving a few out. Because of the scope of the topic, I have limited the book to covering the basic SolidWorks package with Office, Office professional, or Office Premium add-ins, although I have devoted half of a chapter to toolbox.
You will find enough information here that the book can grow with your SolidWorks needs.
I have written tutorials for most of the chapters with newer users in mind, because for them, it is most helpful to see how things are done in SolidWorks step by step. The longer narrative examples give more in-depth information about features and functions, as well as the results of various settings and options.

This book includes many details that come from practical usage, and is focused on the needs of professional users, not on student learners. My approach is to teach concepts rather than button pushes.
Civil 3D was introduced in 2004 as a trial product. Designed to give the then–Land Development desktop user a glimpse of the civil engineering software future, it was a sea change for AutoCAD based design packages. Although there was need for a dynamic design package, many seasoned Land Desktop users wondered how they’d ever make the transition.

Over the past few years, Civil 3D has evolved from the wobbly baby introduced on those first trial discs to a mature platform used worldwide to handle the most complex engineering designs. With this change, many engineers still struggle with how to make the transition. The civil engineering industry as a whole is an old dog learning new tricks.

We hope this book will help you make the transition easier. As the user base grows and users get beyond the absolute basics, more materials are needed, offering a multitude of learning opportunities. Designed to help you get past the steepest part of the learning curve and teach you some guru-level tricks along the way, Mastering AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011 Pdf should be a good addition to any Civil 3D user’s bookshelf

Who Should Read This Book.

The Mastering book series is designed with specific users in mind. In the case of Mastering AutoCADCivil 3D 2011 Pdf , we expect you’ll have some knowledge of AutoCAD in general and some basic engineering knowledge as well. We expect this book should appeal to a large number of Civil 3D users,
but we envision a few primary users:

Beginning users looking to make the move into using Civil 3D. These •u people understand
AutoCAD and some basics of engineering, but they are looking to learn Civil 3D on their
own, broadening their skillset to make themselves more valuable in their firms and in the
market.
• Civil 3D users looking for a desktop reference. With the digitization of the official help files, many users still long for a book they can flip open and keep beside them as they work. These people should be able to jump to the information they need for the task at hand, such as further information about a confusing dialog or troublesome design issue.

• Users looking to prepare for the Autodesk Certification exams. This book focuses on the elements you need to pass the Associate and Professional exams with flying colors, and includes margin icons to note topics of interest.

• Classroom instructors looking for better materials. This book was written with real data from real design firms. We’ve worked hard to make many of the examples match the realworld problems we have run into as engineers. This book also goes into greater depth than many basic texts, allowing short classes to teach the basics and leave the in-depth material for self-discovery, while longer classes can cover the full material presented.

This book pdf autocad tutorial isn’t a replacement for training. There are too many design options and parameters to make any book a good replacement for training from a professional. This book teaches you to use the tools available, explore a large number of the options available, and leave you with an idea of how to use each tool. At the end of the cad book pdf, you should be able to look at any design task you run across, consider a number of ways to approach it, and have some idea of how to accomplish the task. To use one of our common analogies, reading this book is like walking around your local home-improvement warehouse. You see a lot of tools and use some of them, but that doesn’t mean you’re ready to build a house.
Elliot Gindis started out using AutoCAD "Pdf" in a New York City area civil engineering company in September of 1996, moving on to consulting work shortly afterwards. He has since drafted in a wide variety of fields ranging from all aspects of architecture and building design to electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and rail design. These assignments, including lengthy stays with IBM and Siemens Transportation Systems, totaled over 50+ companies to date.

In 1999 Elliot began teaching part-time at Pratt Institute of Design, followed by positions at Netcom Information Systems, RoboTECH CAD solutions and more recently at New York Institute of Technology. In 2003 Elliot formed Vertical Technologies Consulting and Design (www.VTCDesign.com), an AutoCAD training firm that has trained corporate clients in using and optimizing AutoCAD Tutorial Pdf.
Angular units can also be any of five types. The combination you choose will largely depend on the type of drawings you plan to prepare. We’ll discuss each of these linear and angular units at the end of this chapter, but for now let’s focus on getting ready to begin drawing our cabin. When you first start a new drawing, AutoCAD 2012 displays a blank drawing called Drawing #.dwg. By default the linear and angular units inside this drawing are set to decimal numbers. The units and other basic setup parameters applied to this new drawing are based on a prototype drawing with default settings — including those for the units.
This Part covers some of the tools for changing the basic parameters of a new drawing so that you can tailor it to the cabin project or for your own project. Begin by setting up new units: 1. With AutoCAD 2012 running, close all drawings and then click the New button (on the Quick Access toolbar) to start a new drawing. In the Select Template dialog box, click the arrow to the right of the Open button and select Open With No Template – Imperial (see Figure 3.1) or Open With No Template – Metric, depending on your preference.
and a horizontal line colored red. Where these lines intersect represents the origin, or 0,0 point inside your drawing. Any point above the red line and to the right of the green line will have a positive coordinate value.
